The first time I saw one shaped like an insect, it was this one. Bands of yellow and black, thin wings, arms curved back into scythes. Ever since, it is shapes like this that keep catching my eye.

The same creature was laughing on a different day: brown clothes, and a great flower pinned to it. The scythes and the wings had been put away somewhere. Which of the two is the one that gets put away, I have not yet decided.

It said it knew nothing of where it came from. The next time, it knew all of it. One of the two must be true. There is always a larger one at its side, minding it. To require such a thing — an inconvenient way to be made.
